What do you do to help people in your community?

I was wondering what types of things people do to help others who are need. If you do not want to tell people what you do or if you don't do some type of service then come up with some things that you think are good forms of community service.

Although I haven't been very active lately, I've done my best to help both the Madison and state community by volunteering with WISPIRG. I think that there are two areas where people may make contributions to help their communtiy. People can either aid their community through direct action: food drives, neighborhood watch etc. Or they can contribute to the political process: voting, talking to representatives, or running for office. I also believe that there are three main ways to make contributions. You can make contributions through your work (job), personal time, and personal finances. I think that most people who want to help their communities can find a way to do so with one of the six ways listed above.
