What's the big deal about Birthdays?

My birthday is coming up this week, but I'm not very excited. Why do people get excited for their birthday or other people birthdays?

I don't. I fucking hate birthdays. I set them up to be these great days, and then the person who plans it generally does a horrible job. I should just start spending my birthdays by myself. Boy, I don't sound bitter at all!

Did you have fun on your birthday Joe??? I thought it was a great time.

But...I agree, I usually end up doing homework on my actual birthday and I recall being pissed that the Brewers lost on it this year.

Update your blog Joe! I need to be intellectually stimulated ;-)

My birthday was lame, but the day after was amazing! Everyone should have a chance to see Youssou N'Dour.

On my fifth birthday my foot was ripped open by a door and I had to get stiches.
On my eighteenth birthday I didn't see any member of my family and I had to work second shift at the Swiss Colony in Monroe.
I'm not sure which of those was worse!
Usually birthdays are more fun though. Eating cake with family is pretty much awesome.
