What is the greatest Beatles album and why?

Greatest Hits albums don't count. I choose "Help!"

"Help!" was right before they started getting a little crazy and right after they got out of their pop stage, plus it has an awesome video.

Sgt. Peppers has to be mentioned, as Rolling Stone did rank it the #1 album of all time. So in terms of influence, that's definitely the top.

Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. The most influential album for a choice member of the Beatles while creating Sgt. Peppers.

I like the Beatles, but definitely getting more than they deserve. I don't really think enticing a large public makes you the best band ever - look how large of a public was enticed by the Backstreet Boys and other disgraceful 'artists.'

There were other artists before the Beatles - Dylan, Cash, Elvis ... blah blah blah. Word out on the street was that Dylan introduced the Beatles to marijuana.

Anyways.
